Blast kills 2, wounds 10 in Afghanistan
SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Two persons were killed and 10 others sustained injuries as a bomb went off in Aqcha district of the northern Jauzjan province 390 km north of Kabul on Thursday, a local official said.
"A bomb planted by the armed militants in Aqcha district and detonated at around 08:00 a.m. local time left two people including a police dead and injured 10 others including four policemen," the official told Xinhua but declined to be identified.
On the other hand, Najibullah Farhang, the director of hospital in Aqcha district, said that two dead bodies and 10 injured persons including four police had been taken to hospital.
Meantime, the police chief of Aqcha district, Jawad Jahid, confirmed the incident, saying the enemies of peace, a reference to Taliban militants, had planted explosive device on a rickshaw and detonated it next to a police vehicle.
It is the second bomb blast in Afghanistan since Thursday morning. In the previous blast three civilians were killed and four others injured in the northern Kunduz province.
